I walked into Church, and five pairs of eyes looked at me. The five faces the eyes belong to had a different degree of a smile.

“Well, look who decide to join us. Takes a week off, then saunters in all loose hipped,” Jag said.

“Yeah, you’d think he’d be wearing a smile instead of scowl,” Devil added.

“Who wants to make a bet. I say he not only makes Mac an ol’ lady. I got a hundred says he’ll take it all the way and be married by Christmas,” Flirt said and chuckled when I flipped him off.

“I’ll take that bet. But I say he won’t wait around like some and he’ll have a ball and chain before Christmas,” Jag said.

“Hey, Sami is the one who won’t set up a time. I’ve got a ring on her finger. That counts,” Speed said and glared at Jag.

“Carly’s got my ring on her finger, too. She’s my ol’ lady, and that has just as much if not more meaning than a piece of paper,” Crusher argued.

“Bailey wants to wait until the baby is born,” Devil said.

“Fuck all of you. I’m going to take it slow with Mac. I don’t want to push too hard and have to chase her down again,” I said, and my brothers laughed.

“Yeah, I’m in on the bet. Coast being patient. That would be a first,” Devil said, and he and Flirt bumped fist.

“Put me down for a hundred for before Halloween,” Jag said.

“Me, too. Make mine before Thanksgiving. I’ll give him a little time,” Crusher said.

“Oh, shit. You have to marry her on Thanksgiving,” Devil said and laughed. I frowned, and from my other brothers’ faces, they were as confused as I was.

“What the hell does Thanksgiving have to do with getting married.”

“Oh, come on, work with me. It would be cool as hell to have you get married before we have the club’s big Thanksgiving dinner. You already have the part of the Indian covered, and Mac only needs a Pilgrim dress.”

“Something is seriously wrong with you, Dev,” Speed said and shook his head.

I shoved Devil as I sat in the seat beside him. “You’re such a dumbass.”

“You know it was a joke, right? ‘Cause I love you, brother.”

“Of course, I know it was a joke. You still got your hair, don’t you?” I laughed, and so did the others.

“Hey. Why’re you laughing at his scalping joke, and you didn’t laugh at mine?” Devil asked and looked around the table.

“‘Cause we weren’t laughing at his joke. We were laughing at the picture of you without your hair,” Flirt answered.

“No one touches the hair. Well, except Bailey when she grabs hold of it while I’m eat—”

“Stop!” Speed yelled and cut Devil off. “Have you been hanging around Roscoe?”

“No more than usual. Why?” Devil asked.

“Never mind. You have issues, brother,” Speed said and shook his head.

Devil shrugged. “Like you just figured that shit out.”

I burst out laughing. Damn, I loved these men.

“Alright, let’s see if we can get to some business before Ghost gets here and catches us up on the construction business.
